Biography

Dr. Yipeng Liu is the Dean’s Outstanding Junior Professor in the Department of Operations Management and Information Systems (OM&IS). The majority of the courses he has taught focused on the core courses in Management Information Systems such as business programming, database management, business telecommunication networks, ERP systems design and implementation, and business statistics. Dr. Liu especially enjoys engaging and advising students. He has supervised many student independent studies, and maintained a good connection with industry by engaging his students in experiential learning projects sponsored by firms from the Chicago area and inviting business partners and executives to speak in his class for topics such as ERP implementation, Cybersecurity, Big Data Analytics, etc. Dr. Liu’s research work is focused on the economic modeling of information systems. The concentration is on using analytical modeling and game theory techniques to reveal the economic and social aspects of central interests in business and organizational fields. He is very active on the research topic and his research had appeared in top ranked journals such as: MIS Quarterly, Information Systems Research, Production and Operations Management, Journal of Management Information Systems, European Journal of Operational Research, Decision Support Systems, International Journal of Electronic Commerce, and Journal of Global Optimization. Dr. Yipeng Liu also serves as assistant chair in the OM&IS Department.
